Why Huai Khwang needed an authentic Indian restaurant
Huai Khwang sits in a strange Bangkok gap. It is dense with hotels, condos, and businesses — Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium sits on our own stretch of New Phetchaburi Road, the Sukhumvit Soi 22 hotels (The Lancaster Bangkok, Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit 22) are a short taxi ride, and office towers line Asoke-Dindaeng and the MRT — yet for years the area had no genuinely authentic Indian restaurant within walking distance. Diners had to taxi to Sukhumvit or Sathorn — where Indian options were either hotel-grade-expensive or cloud-kitchen-mediocre.
We opened in April 2026 specifically to fill that gap. Our chef from Uttarakhand cooks the full North Indian repertoire — butter chicken, biryani, tandoori, dal makhani, paneer dishes — from a real charcoal tandoor at 480°C. Getting to us in Huai Khwang
BHARAT is on the south side of New Phetchaburi Road, in the stretch between Phetchaburi MRT and the Bangchak gas station. Easy to find by any of these reference points:
- From Phetchaburi MRT (Blue Line): 5 minutes walk. Exit 4, then walk east along New Phetchaburi Rd. You will see Grand Mercure Atrium first — we are 2 minutes further on the same side.
- From Sutthisan MRT: 8 minutes by taxi or motorbike (฿40-60).
- From Asoke BTS: 5-7 minutes by taxi (฿60-80) — straight up Asoke-Dindaeng to New Phetchaburi.
- From Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium: 2 minutes walk — exit lobby, turn right, walk ~180 meters.
- From The Lancaster Bangkok: about 20 minutes on foot along New Phetchaburi Road, or 5 minutes by taxi.
- By car / Grab: use destination "BHARAT Flavours Of India, 2055 New Phetchaburi Road" — there is free parking at the Bangchak gas station next door.

The dining room
30-40 seats in a single ground-floor room. Two seating styles:
- Standard tables — for diners who prefer chairs.
- Dastarkhan corner — traditional Indian floor seating with cushions and a low communal table, plus its own screen for cricket and music. Indian families and groups often prefer this corner.
Soft warm lighting throughout. Cold drinks done properly — fresh lassi in three flavours (sweet, salted and mango), chaas, masala lemonade, masala chai and cold soft drinks. A TV usually showing cricket (IPL season turns the room into something special).

Is there parking at the restaurant?
Yes, and it is free: the Bangchak petrol station next door lets our guests park, so driving in from Ratchada or Din Daeng is as easy as taking the MRT. Taxi and Grab drivers can pull up directly in front of us on New Phetchaburi Road.
Which MRT station is closest, and how long is the walk?
Phetchaburi MRT on the Blue Line, about a five-minute walk. Leave by Exit 4 and head east along New Phetchaburi Road — you pass Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium first, and we are two minutes further along the same side.
Is the food halal?
We are halal-friendly rather than CICOT-certified, and we would rather say so plainly. The chicken comes from halal-marked lines bought fresh every day, the bone-in goat comes from our halal supplier, there is no pork anywhere in the kitchen, and no alcohol goes into the cooking. Beer and wine are served at the table for dine-in guests only, kept apart from the kitchen.
Can the kitchen make dishes less spicy?
Yes. Tell your server mild, medium or hot when you order and the chilli is adjusted at the pan. Butter chicken, dal makhani and paneer butter masala are mild by default, which is why they suit children and first-time diners.
