Soups Menu — Bangkok

Indian soups range from the simple (rasam-style pepper broths) to the rich (creamy tomato, sweet corn, manchow from the Indo-Chinese side). They are usually ordered as a light starter while the tandoor does its work. Below are 12 soups, all made on order.

Notes from the kitchen — Soups

About the soups. Each one is made on order in small batches, not ladled from a holding pot — which matters most for the Indo-Chinese ones (hot and sour, manchow) where the vegetables should still have bite. The creamy tomato is the crowd-pleaser; the pepper-led broths are what we suggest in rainy season or when you are saving room for a big main. A soup plus one starter is a comfortable wait-filler while a biryani dum-cooks.

Frequently Asked Questions about Soups

How many Soups dishes do you serve?

There are 12 Soups items on the menu, listed below. Each is cooked to order, with masala ground fresh in our kitchen every morning. Halal across the board.

Are the soups made fresh to order?

Yes — small batches on order, not a holding pot. That matters most for the Indo-Chinese ones (hot and sour, manchow), where the vegetables should still have bite when the bowl lands. The creamy tomato is the crowd favourite.

Are there vegetarian soups?

Most of the list is vegetarian or has a vegetarian version, and the non-veg broths use the same halal-marked chicken as the rest of the kitchen (no pork, ever). Ask your server which bowls suit a vegetarian or Jain table.

When should I order soup in an Indian meal?

First — it arrives in about ten minutes, well before the tandoor and biryani finish. A soup plus one starter is the classic way to pace a BHARAT dinner, especially if the table has ordered a dum biryani with its 35–45 minute wait.
