About Chang (Small)
Chang is one of Thailand's best-known and best-loved lagers, the beer you see on tables everywhere from street-side noodle stalls to riverside restaurants. Brewed by ThaiBev, it is a pale lager of a little over five percent with a smooth, easy-drinking character and a touch more sweetness on the finish than its rivals, which makes it especially friendly with fiery food. We serve it cold in a small bottle from the bar.
That faintly sweeter, rounder profile is what makes Chang such a comfortable partner for the spicier end of our menu. When a curry carries real chilli heat, a slightly sweeter lager soothes the burn the way a touch of sugar does, while the cold carbonation keeps the palate fresh between mouthfuls. It is the kind of beer you can drink steadily across a long, shared meal without it tiring you out — the everyman Thai lager that suits a relaxed dinner with friends.
Reach for a Chang with our hotter dishes — a chilli-forward chicken curry, a Chettinad-style plate, or anything you have asked the kitchen to make extra spicy — as well as with the tandoori starters that open most of our meals. As with all our drinks, the beer comes from the bar only: the BHARAT kitchen is pork-free and halal-friendly, and no alcohol is ever used in the food itself. Served to guests aged twenty and over under Thai law, and best enjoyed responsibly over good company and good food.
